The Adventure Continues

I threw open the front door and darted into my room. I got on my computer, and my first sentence jumped onto the page: “There once existed an age where dragons flew high above the clouds, and pixies roamed the earth causing everyday mischief.”

My imagination was on fire, and my fingers struggled to keep pace. There was so much to type. The story was massive and getting bigger by the minute.

I was immersed in the birth of a world. Waves crashed on a new shoreline. Winds blew across strange lands. Storms broke against high and impassable mountain peaks.

Humans, elves, dwarves and many other races lived under the same sky. There was peace, but a hidden evil was lurking in the shadows. Kings rose to power, while a sorcerer sought to end their reign.

I wrote until sunrise, and in a single night, the prologue was crafted. I tried to start the first chapter, but my energy was fading. I finally went to bed and awoke at noon.

I slowly sat up. It was a beautiful, crisp day, and I remembered the strangest dream. Lightening, thunder, sword falling from the sky, but it was no dream. Not only that…I was happy.

My anxiety was gone! I wasn’t depressed! My mind was clear, and my body wasn’t heavy. The sun was extra bright, and I was hungry.

The Lord heard my desperate cry for help and answered—immediately. He truly is a God of love and mercy. He gave me my life back and more.

I hopped out of bed with only one agenda that day. I had to keep writing. With no outline, no map, but only a vision that sparked every sentence, I continued to write. And the adventure still continues…even to today.

Every day is a new adventure!
