The Harvest
My family arrived in America nearly five hundred years ago. They migrated from Spain with the blessings of the queen. Many believed there was land and fortune for all who were brave enough to undergo the journey.
Men and women stepped into a wooden ship to traverse the oceans. They endured storms, sickness and the hardships of traveling in the 1500’s. Some died along the way, but others reached their final destination in the New World.
My family settled in New Mexico and played a large role in founding Albuquerque. For hundreds of years, many lived there as merchants, builders and farmers. I’ve never farmed, but I am sowing with Legacy of the Kings.
In Chapter One, Hadwyn finds his sons planting seeds (Waiden: pages 10-11). The seeds were scattered in the pathways, along the rocky ground, and an abandoned farm next door. Hadwyn told his boys that the soil must be good to produce a harvest.
The prior conversation represents the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13: 3-9). The different types of ground are hearts. Within the prologue, the message of the Gospel has been presented. Have a soft heart and allow the seeds (Gods Word) to take root in your life.
This world is not our final destination. Every day we have a choice between Heaven and Hell. The Lord’s promise of Salvation can only be accepted while we live. Trials will test our faith, but make the right choice and continue to serve God.
“The harvest is great, but the workers are few.”
Luke 10:2
